Ne datat 6-12 Gusht ne Berlin u zhvillua kampionati me i rendesishem europian i vitit “European Athletics Championships Berlin 2018” ku moren pjese rreth 1500 atlete nga 50 shtete te ndryshme.
Kete vit Radio Televizioni Shqiptar RTSH beri te mundur transmetimin e te gjithe aktivitetit ne shtepite e te gjithe shqiptareve.
Sipas Presidentit te Federates Europiane te Atletikes Mr. Svein Arne Hansen ky ishte per te aktiviteti me i bukur europian qe ai kishte qene prezent qe prej vitit 1970 dhe e ka cilesuar ate shume mbreselenes.

Federata Shqiptare e Atletikes dhe Shqiperia ne kete kompeticion perfaqesoheshin 3 atlete ne total,2 meshkuj dhe nje femer,perkatesisht me dy atletet me te mire te momentit Izmir Smajlaj dhe Luiza Gega.Gjithashtu ishte dhe Franko Burraj,atleti i ri i ekipit te Shkodres i cili eshte shume premtues per te ardhmen e tij.
Federata Shqiptare e Atletikes ne kete kompeticion u sponsorizua nga kompania e fluturimeve “Turkish Airlines” te cilet mundesuan biletat e udhetimit vajtje ardhje per 4 persona.
Ne kete kompeticion ishin 3 atletet e siperpermendur si dhe trajneret e tyre respektiv.
Presidenti z. Gjergj Ruli ishte prezent si trajner i Izmir Smajlaj,Taulant Stermasi si trajner i Luiza Gegas,si dhe Bruno Rrotani si trajner i Franko Burraj.
Garat ishin shume kompetitive duke patur parasysh nivelin e atleteteve te shteteve te tjera.
Atleti i ri Franko Burraj nuk arriti te kalonte fazen kualifikuese dhe nuk mundi te shkoj me tej.
Izmir Smajlaj e kaloj fazen kualifikuese duke kercyer 7.71m dhe vazhdoi ne roundin final te gares ku kerceu me rezultatin 7.83m duke perfunduar renditjen finale ne vendin e 10-te.
Kontestime ka pas si nga atleti jone dhe atlete te tjere per vleresim me te ulet te rezultatit.
Luiza Gega eshte kualifikuar ne vendin e 2-te ne fazen kualifikuese.
Ndersa ne garen finale 3000m/p duhet theksuar se ajo ka bere nje gare te shkelqyer duke na dhuruar emocione si dhe tregoi nje forme te shkelqyer stervitore.
Fatkeqesisht ka humbur zonen e medaljes per vetem 0.32 sekonda ku ishte ne vije me atleten norvegjeze GRØVDAL Karoline Bjerkeli.
Ajo shënoi kohën 9 minuta e 24 sekonda e 81 të qindat. Kampione u shpall atletja gjermane Gesa Felicitas Krause. Koha e saj ishte 9 minuta e 19 sekonda e 80 të qindat, në vend të dytë zviceriania Fabienne Schlumpf me kohën kohën 9 minuta 22 sekonda dhe 29 të qindat dhe në vend të tretë norvegjezja Karoline Grovdal me kohën 9 minuta 24 sekonda e 49 të qindat.

On 6-12 August in Berlin took place the most important event of the year for the European Athletics Federation,the “European Athletics Championships Berlin 2018” in which took place over 1500 athletes from 50 different countries.
This year our national TV Station RTSH had the exclusivity to air the whole competition so we could enjoy it in our homes and different places.
According to the President of European Athletics Mr. Svein Arne Hansen this was the best european championship he had attented since.
A few words from the president “I have been to every one since 1970 and maybe people will have another opinion, but we have had an unbelievable atmosphere in the stadium which has been bringing tears to the eyes, not only in my country of Norway, but in many places.”

Albanian Athletics Federation in this competition was represented by 3 athletes in total,2 males and one female.
There were the two best athletes of the moment for our albanian athletics Izmir Smajlaj and Luiza Gega,also the new promising athlete from Shkodra Franko Burraj.
Albanian Athletics Federation would like to thank “Turkish Airlines” which was the sponsor for this competition and provided us with air tickets two-way for 4 people.
In this competition were present the above athletes plus their respective trainers.
President Mr. Gjergj Ruli was present as trainer of Izmir Smajlaj,Taulant Stermasi as trainer of Luiza Gegas,also Bruno Rrotani as trainer of Franko Burraj.
All of the disciplines were really competitive considering the the countries which took part.
Our new athlete Franko Burraj unfortunately couldn’t pass the qualification round.
Izmir Smajlaj passed the qualification round with a jump of 7.71m and went to the final round and his best jump was 7.83m ending up in the 10th place.
There was a lot of contestations about one of his jumps which was past the 8m line but the judges lowered his result.
Luiza Gega had an excellent performance display where she finished her race 2nd in the qualifying rounds.
In the final round of the race 3000m/h she made an excellent race giving us emotions and showing a really strong fighting spirit.
But unfortunately she lost the medal zone to only 0.32 seconds in the finish line with the norwegian athlete GRØVDAL Karoline Bjerkeli.
Her time was 9:24.81s.
